Role Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative

Drama Teacher

to join our team. The successful candidate will design and deliver engaging drama lessons and workshops for children and young people of varying ages and abilities. You will foster a love of performance, help students build confidence on stage and in themselves, and support those who wish to progress towards showcases or professional pathways.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver high-quality drama lessons that inspire creativity, imagination, and confidence. Teach core drama skills such as improvisation, character development, voice work, and stagecraft. Support students in rehearsing for performances, showcases, or competitions. Adapt teaching to suit the needs of different age groups and abilities. Provide constructive feedback and guidance to support progression. Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. Encourage teamwork, discipline, and respect in every class.
Person Specification

Essential:



Experience teaching or directing drama with children and young people. Strong knowledge of drama techniques, theatre practice, and performance skills. Excellent communication, creativity, and organisational skills. Ability to inspire and engage students of all levels. Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive teaching practices.

Desirable:



Teaching qualification or certification in Performing Arts/Drama (e.g., PGCE, LAMDA, Trinity, or equivalent). Experience directing school productions, showcases, or stage performances. Background in professional acting, directing, or theatre. First Aid and Safeguarding certifications.
