Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tile Setter to complete a garden patio job in Chigwell, Essex. The tiles to be installed are Porcelain 600mm x 600mm x 20mm.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tile installation, including the ability to read and interpret schematics. This role requires proficiency with both hand tools and power tools, as well as a keen eye for aesthetics and precision in work. The Tile Setter will be responsible for ensuring high-quality installations that meet client specifications and industry standards.

Responsibilities

Measure and cut tiles to fit specific areas, ensuring accurate dimensions. Prepare surfaces for tile installation by cleaning, smoothing, and applying adhesives. Lay tiles according to design specifications, patterns, and colour schemes. Use hand tools and power tools effectively to achieve precise cuts and placements. Grout tiles after installation, ensuring a clean finish. Inspect completed work for quality assurance and make adjustments as necessary. Collaborate with other tradespeople, such as carpenters and painters, to ensure cohesive project completion. Maintain a clean and organised work environment throughout the duration of each project.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Tile Setter or in a similar role within the construction industry. Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools relevant to tile installation. Ability to read and interpret schematics, drawings, and blueprints. Strong attention to detail with an eye for aesthetics in layout design. Physical stamina and strength to perform manual tasks over extended periods. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team. A background in carpentry is advantageous but not essential.
