Overview

We are seeking a skilled Tile Setter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining tiles in residential properties. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilise a range of hand and power tools, and contribute to high-quality finishes. Applicants should have a keen eye for detail, strong technical skills, and experience in construction-related tasks.

Duties

Prepare surfaces by cleaning, levelling, and applying suitable adhesives or mortar. Measure and mark layouts according to schematics or client specifications to ensure precise tile placement. Cut tiles accurately using hand tools such as tile cutters, saws, or specialised power tools. Install tiles on floors, walls, and other surfaces, ensuring proper alignment and adhesion. Grout and seal tiled surfaces to achieve a professional finish and durability. Assist with related tasks such as construction painting or carpentry as needed on-site. Follow health and safety guidelines to maintain a safe working environment at all times. Read and interpret schematics or technical drawings to execute projects accurately.

Qualifications

Proven experience in tiling or construction work involving tile installation. Proficiency with hand tools such as tile cutters, trowels, and chisels. Familiarity with power tools used in tiling and construction (e.g., drills, saws). Basic understanding of carpentry principles and schematics interpretation. Knowledge of construction painting techniques is desirable but not essential. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills. Valid relevant construction certifications or licences are advantageous but not mandatory.
