Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Yard Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the yard and ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse. This position involves various tasks, including materials handling, shipping and receiving, and assisting with loading and unloading goods. A strong emphasis will be placed on safety and efficiency.

The Ideal Candidate will be in possession of a forklift license with experience, However we are prepared to put the right candidate through this Qualification and offer the experience required

Duties

Operate forklifts and other machinery to move materials safely within the yard. Assist in the loading and unloading of goods from lorries, ensuring accurate placement and organisation. Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to safety protocols at all times. Handle materials with care, ensuring proper storage and inventory management using warehouse management systems. Perform heavy lifting as required, demonstrating physical stamina and strength. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely shipping and receiving of products. Utilise mechanical knowledge to assist in basic maintenance of equipment as needed. Support construction activities by preparing materials and tools for use.

Qualifications

Previous warehouse experience is highly desirable. Proficiency in operating forklifts; certification is a plus, Training can also be provided Familiarity with warehouse management systems for efficient inventory tracking. Strong skills in materials handling, with an understanding of safe lifting techniques. Basic mechanical knowledge to assist with equipment maintenance. Experience in construction is beneficial but not mandatory. Ability to perform heavy lifting consistently throughout the shift. A strong commitment to safety practices and teamwork.
