This role has its foundation at the home farm unit, running with an emphasis on forage/grazing and now running with an adjoining sister unit both with 340 Crossbred cows block calving in the autumn period on each site. There is an excellent mix of responsibilities which includes TMR feeding and grassland management across the two units as primary responsibilities along with their associated stock work and can include some milking.The herds are managed on a forage-based system with the housed period on sand cubicles with semi TMR feeding; the yields are around 8,500 litres a cow.
