Little sunflowers has been proudly running for 2 years now and now we are expanding into a nursery! As we grow we are looking for passionate, caring and dedicated early years practitioners to join our close knit team in January 2026.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced toddler room leader to oversee daily routines within our new nursery. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for working with children. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a small team, ensure high standards of care, and contribute positively to the development of young children. The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining a safe, nurturing environment while planning and overseeing activities and staff during their shift.

Duties



Supervise and support childcare staff to ensure smooth daily operations Lead and motivate team members to deliver high-quality care and educational activities Oversee children's activities, ensuring they are engaging, safe, and age-appropriate Maintain effective communication with parents and guardians regarding children's progress and any concerns Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times Manage administrative tasks such as record keeping, registers, accident, medication and pre existing injury forms. Drive company policies forward by modelling professional behaviour and fostering a positive environment Handle any behavioural issues or emergencies promptly and effectively

Qualifications



Proven experience in childcare, nursery settings, or early childhood education Level 3 or above paediatric first aid trained desired Strong management and leadership capabilities with previous supervisory experience preferred Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written Experience working with children of various ages is highly desirable Ability to organise tasks efficiently whilst maintaining a nurturing approach A genuine passion for child development and creating a safe environment for children
This role is vital in ensuring the highest standards of childcare are maintained while supporting staff members in delivering exceptional care. The successful candidate will be organised, proactive, and committed to fostering a positive atmosphere for both children and colleagues.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 12.21-14.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 35 per week
