This role involves developing and refining tooling designs, collaborating with global tooling partners, and ensuring all new and existing tooling meets company and customer requirements. It's a key position within the engineering team, offering a mix of hands-on technical work and cross-department collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical support to the Toolroom and wider engineering teams on tooling queries.
Develop and review
general assembly (GA)
drawings and tooling designs to meet internal standards.
Work closely with international tooling suppliers to ensure robust, effective designs.
Prepare and adapt
3D CAD models
for tooling manufacture, including markups and re-modelling when required.
Participate in customer calls and meetings to discuss product and tooling development.
Advise internal and external design teams on
optimum tooling solutions
and feasibility.
Review and interpret
mould flow analysis
to support process optimisation.
Provide accurate
modification quotations
based on customer files and design updates.
Manage external tooling work, ensuring clear communication and accurate project information.
Attend internal and external project meetings as required (some international travel may be offered).
Uphold all company health and safety standards in accordance with the
Health and Safety at Work Act (1974)

What We're Looking For
Proven experience in
tooling design
,
injection moulding
, or
product development
.
Strong 3D CAD skills (e.g. SolidWorks, NX, or equivalent).
Good understanding of tooling manufacture and mould design principles.
Ability to interpret customer CAD data and translate it into tooling-ready designs.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Experience working with international suppliers or toolmakers (advantageous).
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects.
