Overview

We are seeking a skilled Tool Maker to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and be proficient in various machining processes. This role involves the servicing, maintenance and repair of high end extrusion dies.

Responsibilities

Stripping tools and rectifying process problems, to improve product quality and minimise production downtime. Operate milling machines, lathes, and grinding equipment to fabricate precision components. Perform welding tasks as required for tool assembly and repair. Conduct tooling changes and adjustments to optimise production efficiency. Collaborating with the engineering and production teams to manage external tool repairs and modifications, in timely and cost effective manner. Maintain accurate records of tooling specifications, servicing information, and maintenance schedules. Ensure all tooling changes and improvements are made to the highest quality standards while adhering to safety protocols. Utilise hand tools and fabrication techniques to assemble complex tooling systems.

Experience

Proven experience as a Tool Maker or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment. Proficiency in CAD software, particularly AutoCAD and SolidWorks. Strong skills in grinding, milling, welding, and general fabrication techniques. Familiarity with tooling for plastic profile extrusion is desirable, but not essential. Excellent mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently. Experience using hand tools for assembly tasks is essential. A keen eye for detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
