Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tool Maker/Precision Engineer to join our family run business. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate flexibility, accuracy, the ability to resolve problems and be able to work with minimum supervision. You must be able to interpret detailed engineering drawings, and manufacture parts in line with stated tolerances and dimensions. You will be working to tight tolerances, therefore attention to detail is essential. Knowledge/experience of working with a range of materials, particularly carbon, is desirable, but not essential as training will be provided to the right candidate.

Candidates with experience in areas such as milling, turning or grinding - or with knowledge of specialist components manufacture - will be of particular interest.

Responsibilities

Fabricate tools through machining, grinding and assembly processes. Operate milling machines, grinders, and other fabrication equipment to achieve precise dimensions. Perform maintenance and repairs on existing tools to ensure optimal functionality. Collaborate with production teams to understand tooling requirements and specifications. Conduct inspections of fabricated tools to ensure they meet quality standards and tolerances. Document tool specifications, modifications, and maintenance activities accurately.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Tool Maker or in a similar role within manufacturing or engineering environments. Skilled in machining processes including milling, grinding, and assembly. Ability to use various hand tools safely and effectively. Excellent attention to detail with a focus on precision engineering standards.
Working hours are Monday to Thursday, 8am - 5pm.

Holiday entitlement is 34 days per year, including bank holidays and shutdowns.

Wage is negotiable depending on experience, and to be reviewed after a 3 month probationary period.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 14.50-18.00 per hour
