We're The English Bus - a small, family-run tour company offering unforgettable small-group day trips from London to world-famous destinations like Stonehenge, Bath, Oxford, the Cotswolds, Canterbury and more.

We're currently Tripadvisor's #1-rated London day tour company -- and that's no accident. Our tours are fun, friendly, expertly crafted and always personal. With just 16 guests per trip, we pride ourselves on giving every single person the kind of day they'll rave about for years.

Who you are

We're looking for a reliable, resourceful and charismatic individuals to join our tight-knit team. You don't need to be a historian, but you do need:

Brilliant communication skills

- you'll be the heart and soul of the tour.

A love of people

- our guests come from all corners of the globe.

Curiosity and passion

- about history, culture, and travel (don't worry, we'll teach you plenty along the way).

Calm under pressure

- because things don't always go to plan.

A clean UK driving licence

- and the willingness to train for a PCV licence (D1).
Our best guides have come from all kinds of backgrounds: actors, teachers, hospitality pros, city escapees, historians, even complete career-changers. What they all share is charisma, empathy, and a flair for storytelling.

What you'll do

Bring Britain to life - from Stonehenge myths to Cotswolds charm. Entertain and engage guests from around the world. Safely drive our 16-seater Mercedes minibuses. Deliver tours with personality, warmth, and professionalism. Check and care for the company vehicle daily. Go the extra mile to give guests an experience they'll never forget. Keep learning - from our training days, from your own curiosity, and from every single tour you run.

The practical stuff

Location:

Central London base.

Hours:

Tours are long (around 13 hours), but usually 2-3 days on, 2-3 days off.

Seasonal work:

March-October (3-4 days a week typical). Reduced work Nov-Feb (1-3 days a week).

Pay:

Once trained and licensed, upwards of

235 per day + tips

. Extremely competitive.

Training:

Full tour training provided. You'll need to get your PCV licence at your own cost (we'll support you through the process).
