Job Description

We're looking for a bright spark to join our Visitor Experience Team here at Summerhall Distillery. As part of the team working in our visitor centre and shop, you'll be involved in the day-to-day operations of this part of our business.

You'll be welcoming guests to our working distillery and leading them through a number of different experiences. Ranging from our Gin experiences to our Whisky tastings, you'll be educating our guests and making sure they enjoy their time with us.

Since establishing ourselves, back in 2014, as Edinburgh's first exclusive gin distillery in 150 years, we have repeatedly proven that nothing is impossible. Pickering's Gin is looking for someone that embodies this mentality with a positive attitude, excellent work ethic and storytelling skills, and a strong desire to prove themselves in Scotland's exciting drinks industry.

What we're looking for:

- Dynamic and friendly individual who will greet customers with courtesy, enthusiasm and confidence when delivering our range of experiences

- Fluent in English, with excellent communication skills, and keen to present our tour with your own flair.

- An additional language would be a plus (French, German or Italian)

- Previous experience in guiding, acting or any form of public speaking

- Retail experience and ability to manage and prepare stock for the distillery shop

- Selling of Summerhall Distillery products on tours; taking payments, and following payment protocols

- Flexibility, teamwork, organisational skills and an eye for detail

- The ability to think for yourself and manage your time keeping during and between tours

- An interest in gin, whisky, distilling and Scotland's fabulous food and drinks industry

- Customer service skills; making phone calls, using email and booking systems

- Proficiency with using Windows programs particularly Excel and Word
