If you can picture yourself on an open-top double decker bus being driven around Edinburgh while thousands of visitors to the city hang on your every word, then Edinburgh Bus Tours would like to hear from you. Edinburgh Bus Tours, part of the Lothian family, is one of Scotland\xe2\x80\x99s top paid-for visitor attractions and offers a five-star visitor experience. We help over 650,000 visitors each year create unforgettable memories as they discover our breath-taking Capital. We offer 4 different tours, each one creating a unique and unforgettable experience for our visitors. Our Guides are responsible for providing an entertaining and informative tour of Edinburgh on an open top bus; although no written script is provided, guidelines will be provided for the content of the tours. Guides must have the ability to interpret the cultural heritage of the city as well as having a passion for showing off Scotland\xe2\x80\x99s Capital to the world. So, if you know when the 1 o\xe2\x80\x99clock gun goes off? Or what\xe2\x80\x99s the best way to catch a haggis? Then you\xe2\x80\x99ll be able to answer some of the questions that our Tour Guides get asked. This is a seasonal position however there is the opportunity to return the following season.

Tour Guide Requirements

• No experience required! Our Tour Guides come from a wide variety of backgrounds however good cultural knowledge of Edinburgh and its history is desirable
• To be customer focused to understand, anticipate and deliver on the customers\xe2\x80\x99 needs and expectations
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Actively listens and uses a varied tone of voice to capture audience attention
• Displays high standards of personal appearance, tidiness and time keeping
• Actively supports and contributes to the EBT team

As July and August are our busiest times, we are unable to give holidays during this time however holiday pay will be accrued.
