Juno is an independent planning consultancy based in Belfast and working on projects across Ireland and the UK. With our profile of large scale and public sector development projects we are now recruiting a Planner with particular experience of developing and delivering stakeholder engagement, community consultation and Social Value activities. It is anticipated that the candidate will have sufficient and relevant experience across these areas to enable them to take a lead role in organising and delivering these activities on several exciting projects. Working on interesting projects for notable clients this role would offer the successful candidate direct exposure to major development projects which help shape the world around us.
Specific Duties Include:
To provide professionally competent work including the drafting of planning input to RIBA Stage 1 and Stage 2 Reports and Planning Statements for major development applications of a quality that requires limited oversight from the senior team.
To oversee and manage the monitoring of major development planning applications, to include engagement with planning case officers and client reporting.
To take a lead role in organising, overseeing and undertaking the preliminary aspects of Pre Application Community Consultation for major planning applications including preparing Newspaper Notices, website content, consultation letters, feedback forms and consultation information.
To take a lead role in organising and hosting the Pre Application Community Consultation events including venue hire, in person representation, managing invitations and hosting of the online events.
To collate, analyse and report on feedback received in respect of Pre Application Community Consultation, through the preparation of a Pre Application Community Consultation Report for formal submission and determination with the planning application.
To manage the design and development of Social Value activities for large scale development projects.
Working with local communities to manage on the ground delivery of social value activities.
To organise and oversee stakeholder engagement meetings with multiple local stakeholders, to include direct engagement with community representatives.
General Duties Include
To carry out planning work on behalf of company clients.
Proactively support the senior planning team.
To behave professionally and act as an ambassador for the company and its purpose.
To respect and develop client relationships with a view to ensuring a positive client experience and potential future work.
To manage and take responsibility for your own workload and carry out a wide range of work.
To support the work of the senior planning team for example; undertaking desk top reviews of planning policy and legislation, online planning history search, planning feasibility reports, site analysis, data compilation and analysis, report preparation, and engagement with local communities and statutory agencies.
To contribute to the strategic direction and growth of the business including seeking new opportunities and foreseeing business needs.
To coordinate business social media output with oversight of company management.
To facilitate the good operational working of the business through individual working practices and taking personal responsibilities.
The Ideal Candidate:
Our ideal candidate will be graduate with a post graduate degree from an RTPI accredited planning course, a student member of the RTPI, with relevant experience covering planning activities, community consultation and Social Value delivery, who can easily identify with our values and brings skills which will support the profile of our work and requirement for high levels of professionalism and individual responsibility. We are looking for someone who is an excellent communicator, is comfortable in front of community stakeholders and clients, can produce high quality written work and has a solid understanding of the statutory planning process, with an ability to review and analyse planning policy and lead Pre Application Community Consultation activities. Whilst not a requirement, we welcome candidates who will bring experience in using GIS and also in social media engagement. The candidate should have a demonstrable interest and enthusiasm for the planning profession. A full driving licence and access to a car is preferable.

Pay: 25,000.00-33,000.00 per year
