Location: Bradford / Hybrid Working (Typically one day in the office per week - Bradford)
Work type: This is temporary position for 12 x months. Working 37 hours per week, Monday - Friday between a working window of 8:00am-6:00pm.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Town Planning Technician to join the Town Planning Team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. Could this be you?

The Town Planning Development team are a key part of how we plan to meet the changing expectations of customers and regulators.
The Town Planning Development Team is responsible for responding to planning application and local plan consultations from local planning authorities as well as direct approaches to Development Consent Order consultations.
Where you fit in:
As our Town Planning Technician, you will:
Prepare responses to preplanning enquires, planning applications, non-adoptable connection applications and building regulations consultation to ensure the protection of water and sewerage assets
You'll issue correspondence in response to planning application consultations
Liaise with planning Development Management officers, developers and other external stakeholders regarding planning, network capacity and asset protection issues
Provide customers, internal and external, with a high level of technical advice, guidance and support in relation to planning, infrastructure and Flood Risk Management matters.
Maintain good working relationships within Yorkshire Water to ensure the integrity of our assets is protected and delivered
What skills & qualifications you will need:
A detailed understanding of Flood Risk Management.
Excellent IT skills as you will be using a range of company IT systems
Experience of the planning system either local plan or development management.
Experience of writing planning condition that meet legislation and good practice.
Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points as there will be occasional driving to sites as part of the role.
You will also benefit from having:

The ability to negotiate with and influence others
A good understanding of Sewerage engineering and hydraulics, including ability to understand plans and associated reports.
