Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Tractor Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the efficient operation of our agricultural and horticultural equipment, ensuring that tasks are completed safely and effectively. This position requires a strong understanding of machinery, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively both within a team environment, and alone.

Responsibilities

Operate tractors and other heavy machinery for various tasks, including ploughing, planting, and transporting materials. Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. Keep records of machine maintenance and of field tasks completed. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate tasks and report any issues. Assist in loading and unloading materials from flatbed lorries as required. Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to all safety protocols. Drive delivery vehicles as needed to transport goods between locations.

Experience

Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor issues with machinery is essential. Ability to operate vehicles safely and efficiently is beneficial. Excellent communication skills to ensure effective teamwork and task coordination. Current forklift certificate will be needed, PA1 and PA2 would be useful.
