Trade Counter Assistant

to join our busy team. Alongside trade counter duties and occasional delivery driving (LWB van), this role offers genuine career development -- including the opportunity to step into management and potentially run a new branch in the future.

The Role:

We are seeking an experienced

Trade Counter Assistant

to join our team. This role is customer-facing and requires solid trade counter experience. In addition to serving customers and supporting daily branch operations, you will also provide delivery cover as required, driving a long wheelbase (LWB) van to deliver orders to our trade customers.

Key Responsibilities:

Serving customers at the trade counter with efficiency and professionalism Providing product knowledge and technical advice where appropriate Processing sales, handling payments, and maintaining accurate records Assisting with stock control, checking deliveries, and keeping displays well stocked Covering the delivery driver role as needed, ensuring safe and timely delivery of goods in a LWB van Representing the business positively at all times, both in-branch and on deliveries

Requirements:

Proven experience

working in a trade counter, merchant, or similar customer-facing trade environment (essential) Applicants must meet the requirements of our vehicle insurance policy. Comfortable driving a LWB van (training provided if needed) Good communication and interpersonal skills Reliable, organised, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
