Job Description

Young's are a busy timber and builder's merchant operating in the Kent and East Sussex area. Due to continued expansion we now have a vacancy for an experienced trade counter sales executive, based at our Folkestone branch to work on our busy trade counter. You will join an existing sales team, and come under the direction of the Branch manager.

After a period of trade counter work, this position may involve back office sales support

Ideally you will be working at a Builders merchant / plumbers merchant

You will need to have the following skills,

Experience of selling timber and building materials

Existing trade customer base

Enthusiasm, Knowledge and experience

Managing a trade counter / shop based team

Trade counter experience is essential

Good customer service and communication skills

ability to operate a PC, and basic PC functions

Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines

Team worker and able to work unsupervised

You will be working at our Folkestone branch, Monday to Friday 7.30 to 5pm with alternate Saturday working 8am to 1pm. Extra hours may be required as work dictates. This is a full time position, and your responsibilities will include the following:- generating orders from your own client base, taking and organising orders from our external sales force, answering and to deal with telephone orders and enquiries, stock ordering and direct to site deliveries, trade counter sales as required, customer quotations and enquires.
