Working Pattern:

Office-Based with Daily Garage Visits & Calls

Salary:

Competitive based on experience - Disclosed at pre interview stage + Bonus (OTE)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced

Trade Development & Account Manager

to acquire, manage, and grow garage and workshop customers across London, Essex, and Kent. This role is ideal for a

Motor Factor Professional

with strong garage-facing sales experience, a solid understanding of the UK automotive aftermarket, and

working knowledge of engine-related products

. The position combines daily garage visits, proactive calling, account management, inbound and outbound sales activity, and close collaboration with the wider sales and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

New Garage Acquisition



Identify, target, and sign up new garages and workshops within the assigned territory Carry out daily garage visits supported by regular outbound calls Manage the onboarding and activation of new trade accounts

Account Management & Retention



Build, manage, and grow a portfolio of active garage customers Support customers with daily parts ordering, product availability, and application advice Retain customers through strong service levels, pricing support, and product knowledge Act as the main point of contact for pricing, deliveries, returns, and order queries

Sales, Pricing & Deliveries



Manage customer pricing and discount structures in line with company guidelines Work closely with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure timely and accurate deliveries Monitor daily sales activity and identify opportunities to grow account value and margins

Engine & Product Support



Provide informed support on engine-related products including gaskets, bearings, timing components, filters, and service items Assist garages with basic engine product selection and application queries Liaise with internal technical or product teams where deeper engine expertise is required

Market & Competitor Insight



Maintain strong awareness of the London / Essex / Kent garage market Monitor competitor pricing, promotions, service models, and product ranges Provide regular market feedback and customer insight to the BDM and wider sales team

Team Collaboration & Reporting



Work collaboratively as part of the wider sales team Report daily and weekly activity, performance, and pipeline updates to the BDM Share product, pricing, and market intelligence to support commercial decision-making

Candidate Requirements

Essential Experience



Proven experience working within a

Motor Factor / MAM environment

Garage-facing sales or account management experience Previous sales experience within

London, Essex, and Kent

Strong understanding of the UK automotive aftermarket

Product Knowledge



Practical, working knowledge of automotive parts Confidence discussing

engine-related components

(technical background not essential) Broad product awareness across service parts, braking, suspension, and electrical ranges

Skills & Attributes



Strong communicator, confident both face-to-face and over the phone Relationship-focused, commercially aware, and target-driven Organised, proactive, and comfortable managing daily sales activity Familiar with CRM and order management systems Full UK driving licence
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 24,420.00-35,000.00 per year
