The Role
This is a new, exciting opportunity, to join our fun and rapidly growing global team. The successful candidate will join Javelin's Trade Finance team, reporting into the Head of Trade Finance, and will assist in carrying out all aspects of day-to-day trade finance requirements of Javelin.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Maintain strong relationships with financing banks and lenders
Building strong relationships with all employees at Javelin
Liaise with Commercial and Operations teams on transactions.
Drafting and negotiating of import/export letters of credit and documents
Negotiating LC documentation and reviewing associated shipping documents
Liaising with Trading/Logistics team to resolve queries and discrepancies
Negotiating LC rates and charges with banks and clients
Monitoring and updating daily reporting via internal risk system
Requirements
Skills and Experience Required:
Self-motivated candidate with experience of a similar role within commodities operations
Experience of document checking, with a strong attention to detail
Organised, efficient and able to multi-task, prioritise and manage time effectively.
Collaborative approach with the ability to communicate globally at all levels
A proactive work ethic with a desire to drive tasks to completion
CDCS qualification is advantageous
General understanding of UCP600/ISBP 745
General understanding of shipping terms
General understanding of the commercial terms pertaining to international trade flows
Fluency in written and spoken English Language.
