The Growth Company is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Trade Opportunity Analyst to join our International Trade Service, part of the Greater Manchester Business Growth Hub (GMBGH).



Supporting the Head of International Trade Services and the International Scale-Up Programme Manager, this role will play a vital part in delivering Greater Manchester's International Strategy and sector development ambitions, while also supporting the Greater Manchester Enhanced Trade Partnership alongside the Department for Business and Trade, Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, and Greater Manchester Combined Authority.



As a Trade Opportunity Analyst, you will be responsible for providing strategic, policy, and export data analysis to the International Trade Services team. Your work will support the growth of export-oriented start-ups and established businesses across Greater Manchester.


The contract is offered on a temporary basis until 31st March 2026.




Key Responsibilities:




Provide international trade data analysis and policy insights to support the Greater Manchester Business Growth Hub's International Trade Service. Develop and maintain a robust evidence base of export opportunities, challenges, and trends. Support the development and monitoring of performance metrics for the International Trade Service, including processes to track the client journey from initial contact through to evaluation. Produce high-quality content and insights to support Enhanced Trade Partners in promoting export opportunities to Greater Manchester businesses. Collaborate with partners such as GM Chamber of Commerce and the Department for Business and Trade to streamline trade diagnostics and improve local export intelligence. Work with the GMCA and GC Research teams to scope and deliver strategic export data interrogation projects that inform policy and service development. Prepare and quality-assure compelling presentation material and reports for internal and external meetings. Respond to ad-hoc data and reporting enquiries, ensuring timely, accurate, and relevant insights are provided to stakeholders.

A high level of enthusiasm, curiosity, personal drive, and a capacity for sustained performance.

Skills & Experience Required:




Previous experience within a public service provider, social enterprise and/or economic development (business support/international) of a similar role. Experience in supporting the development of policy or strategy with regard to economic development and ideally business and enterprise support. Strong analytical skills with experience in economic, trade or policy research. Ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights.
