As a Trade Sales and Customer Support Specialist, you will be the primary contact for our trade customers in the manufacturing sector. You will be responsible for providing exceptional sales support, handling inquiries, processing orders, and actively upselling our range of manufactured products. Your expertise will be crucial in building and maintaining strong relationships with our trade clients and contributing to sales targets.
Key Responsibilities
Trade Customer Sales & Support:
Respond promptly to inquiries from trade customers via phone, email, or in person, providing accurate and detailed information about our manufactured products and services.
Assist trade clients in selecting appropriate products for their manufacturing needs, offering expert guidance based on technical specifications and project requirements.
Provide quotes, process trade orders efficiently, and ensure all sales documentation is completed accurately and in line with company procedures.
Handle trade customer complaints or issues professionally, resolving them in a timely manner and escalating when necessary to production or technical teams.
Follow up on trade customer orders and requests, ensuring clear communication regarding production and delivery schedules.
Upselling and Revenue Generation:
Actively identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell our full range of manufactured products and related services to trade clients, maximizing sales and contributing to company revenue.
Proactively contact existing and potential trade customers to generate new business opportunities, follow up on sales leads, and nurture long-term relationships.
Order and Production Coordination:
Process trade orders accurately in the system, checking manufacturing schedules, confirming delivery timelines, and ensuring all order details are correct.
Coordinate closely with the production and logistics teams to ensure trade orders are manufactured and fulfilled on time and to the customer's satisfaction.
Product and Technical Expertise:
Maintain up-to-date, in-depth knowledge of the company's full range of manufactured products, technical specifications, and relevant industry trends.
Educate trade customers on product benefits, technical details, and application best practices, helping them make informed purchasing decisions for their manufacturing projects.
Sales Tracking & Reporting:
Support the achievement of individual and team sales targets by actively seeking new sales opportunities within the manufacturing sector.
Maintain accurate records of trade customer interactions, sales activity, and order statuses in the CRM system, providing regular reports on progress and performance.
Skills and Qualifications
Trade Customer Focus:
A strong dedication to trade customer satisfaction and the ability to effectively address the specific needs of manufacturing clients.
Sales Acumen:
Proven experience in sales or customer service, with a strong ability to upsell and cross-sell technical products.
Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex product information clearly and professionally to trade professionals.
Organisational Skills:
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing sales environment, ensuring timely order processing and follow-ups.
Problem-Solving:
Resourceful and proactive in resolving technical queries and issues for trade customers with a solutions-oriented approach.
Technical Knowledge:
An understanding of manufactured products (or the ability to quickly learn technical details relevant to the industry).
IT Proficiency:
Comfortable using CRM systems, email, and other software for order processing, sales management, and customer relationship management.

Desired Experience and Qualifications
Previous experience in customer service or sales, specifically dealing with trade customers within the manufacturing or construction industry.
