As a Traffic Coordinator at RXO Derby, you'll be the first point of contact for drivers and the central link between planning and operations. You'll ensure drivers are properly briefed, supported, and dispatched efficiently. Your proactive communication and attention to detail will help keep our transport plan on track, resolve real-time challenges, and maintain excellent service delivery. You'll play a vital role in ensuring a smooth start to daily operations and seamless coordination across the traffic team.
Responsibilities
Brief and dispatch drivers at the start of each shift, ensuring all routes and instructions are clearly communicated.
Act as the main point of contact for drivers throughout the day, assisting with any queries or operational issues.
Confirm vehicle allocations, trailer numbers, and load details are correct before departure.
Record driver attendance, route departures, and delivery status' in Qargo Traffic Management System.
Liaise with the operations team to communicate real-time updates such as delays, breakdowns, or reroutes.
Handle incoming calls, driver check-ins, and customer delivery queries promptly and professionally.
Maintain driver paperwork and ensure compliance with transport documentation standards.
Support planners by monitoring live operations and escalating issues as required.
Assist with end-of-day checks including route completion, debriefing, and reporting any outstanding issues
Uphold company safety, compliance and service standards.

Experience
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced logistics environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with drivers, planners, and management
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Transport Management Systems (e.g. Qargo)
Calm under pressure and solution-oriented in operational situations
Preferable 3-5 years in logistics, ideally with experience in fleet or transport planning systems
