Job Description


Streetwise, part of RSK Group, is looking for a General Manager on a permanent, full time basis. Streetwise is a leading provider of high- and low-speed traffic management and event solutions to public and private companies, including major utility providers. This role is office based at the Penrith site in Cumbria / North East of England.

As the General Manager, you will have ownership over the sales strategy and to manage all the staff in the Operations department. This position is a front-line role dealing daily with all SWTM departments, customers and suppliers. You are ultimately responsible for the smooth running and delivery of the service department and its depot.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that interdepartmental communication is kept to an optimum.
  • Oversee depots located with Cumbria & North East.
  • To keep abreast of goings on within the company and its subsidiary departments.
  • Ensure that the workforce is happy, focused, driven and productive.
  • To make sure the company complies with any laws and guidelines that are relevant to the industry.
  • To ensure that any budgets and profit targets are worked towards at all times.
  • Be aware of cash flow and any accounting issues on a daily basis.
Person Specification:
  • Working knowledge of Health and Safety and the Chapter 8 requirements.
  • Account management and Business development experience.
  • Great communication skills and a clear understanding of markets and consumer behaviour
  • Experience and knowledge of the designated region, and the key players within it.
  • Excellent leadership skills and qualities to gain the best results from others within the department
  • Ideally the candidate will have the following qualifications NHSS 12D M7
