Job description:
You will eventually have a portfolio of clients to manage and see a job through from start to finish. The role entails the preparation of mainly Limited Company Financial Statements and Tax Returns for the directors. Bookkeeping and VAT returns for these clients is also a key part of the candidates development. Partnerships, sole traders and tax return preparation for individuals will also feature to a lesser extent. You will also have the opportunity to advise clients on various tax matters. Iris Accountancy Suite is used throughout the practice. Other ad-hoc office duties will need to also be undertaken as and when required such as dealing with emails and client queries in an efficient manner.
Suitability:
You must have a minimum of 1 years experience within an accountancy practice and currently in employment within practice. You should be able to prepare accounts and tax returns to final stage with minimal assistance. You should have a good working knowledge of Iris (or another equivalent package) and Sage (or other bookkeeping software) as well as Microsoft Office. You should also be able to work on an individual basis and as part of a team and manage task lists and workloads in an efficient manner.
Terms:
Initial three month trial period the successful completion of which will lead to a full time permanent contract and then subsequently a training contract, as appropriate.
Salary:
Commensurate with experience and regular reviews to reward performance.
Training:
Full training support towards the AAT/ACCA qualification is offered as part of the role which includes the payment of study fees, revision materials, exam fees and paid study leave.
Location:
47 Calthorpe Road, Edgbaston, Birmingham, B15 1TH. Car parking will be made available in the secure office car park.
Hours of work:
8.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Thursday and 8.00am to 1.00pm on Friday. 35 hours per week. Flexi-time available.
