Junior Accountant

We have an excellent opportunity to further your career in accountancy. If you already have a basic understanding in accountancy and you're ready to take the next step in your career this could be the ideal role for you.

We are looking for at least 2 years work experience in Industry or in Practice, but we're not expecting you to be the finished article. Continuous training will be provided to ensure you can develop further in your role.

We are looking for someone with a positive attitude and a desire to learn. The successful candidate will be someone looking to take on more responsibility and get first hand experience advising clients. We are recruiting at our Consett office.

About the role

Firstly, this role is not to make Tea's and Coffee's. You will be getting stuck into important work from day one. We believe in giving you the absolute best training possible and the only way to do that is by getting into the practical work straight away. We expect you to become a fundamental member of our team as quick as possible.

Your role will be to support our senior accountants to service our clients. At first, this will involve accounting for transactions such as sales and purchases. As you become more experienced, you will learn how to prepare financial statements and prepare company and personal tax returns. You will also learn how to prepare, CIS Returns, VAT Returns and other bookkeeping duties.

To be successful, you must be passionate about learning new skills and applying them in different situations. We rely heavily on following systems so that we will consistently deliver a service that meets our client expectations. You will also need to pay attention to detail and be comfortable learning new technologies.

You will attend college on an AAT apprenticeship one day per week so Driving licence is a must.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 22,500.00-26,000.00 per year
