At Mid Yorkshire NHS Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, we are excited to offer an opportunity for a Paediatric Trained or Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner to join our friendly and forward-thinking team. You'll be based across our hospitals, which include Pinderfields, Dewsbury, and Pontefract, delivering high-quality, patient-centred care to children and young people.

Main duties




The post holder will be practicing within an Acute Paediatric clinical area to provide general paediatric acute care. This will encompass the skills of assessment, examination, diagnosis and treatment within an agreed scope of practice. Upon completion of Core Competencies, they will contribute to the Tier 2 Medical rota.



The post holder will work across nursing and medical boundaries demonstrating leadership in providing expert care, contributing to education, research, audit and practise development.



On completion of relevant competencies, the practitioner will have demonstrated clinical expertise, competence, confidence and be able to work within an autonomous and defined sphere of practice, maintaining records and in collaboration with the Medical and Nursing team.

Registered healthcare professionals (NMC, HCPC or equivalent) Experienced in paediatric settings (acute, emergency or community) Either willing to work towards, or already hold, an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice (or equivalent) Competent in clinical assessment, decision-making, and non-medical prescribing (or working towards it) Enthusiastic about innovation, education, and team-based care
