Trainee Accountant

The Tile Mountain Group is one of the fastest growing online retailers in the UK. Brands include Tile Mountain, Bathroom Mountain and Walls & Floors.

To support the Finance team we are looking to recruit a trainee accountant, who will work closely with the Group Management Accountant with the aim of developing their skills sufficiently to prepare management accounts.

The role is interesting, varied and given the growth of the business there is significant potential for career progression.

Following training, candidates will be involved with:

Monthly management accounts, including divisional reporting

Bank and cash reconciliations

Balance sheet control account reconciliations

Managing the fixed asset register

Intercompany transaction reconciliations

Journals

VAT returns

Cash flow forecasts

Analysis and interrogation of data

Candidates must have the ability to develop:

Advanced excel skills (pivot tables, IF formulas)

Strong attention to detail

Manage large data volumes

Ability to work in a structured manner

Ability to present complex financial information clearly

Work to tight timescales

Manage their own workload and assume full responsibility for tasks

Accounting qualifications are not required but strong academic qualifications are preferable.

Hours & Salary Details

Office based, 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday.

Salary:

Dependent on the candidate. Potential for study support to gain a formal accounting qualification.

Directly comparable experience not required but it is preferable.

Pay: 25,396.80 per year
