We are seeking a dedicated Trainee Audiology Practitioner - Wax Specialist to join our healthcare team.
Qualifications in the sciences is desirable, but not essential, alongside a keen interest in healthcare and patient communication. This role provides valuable professional development within a supportive environment, ideal for those aspiring to specialise in audiology.
This paid training position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in developing a career within audiology. The successful candidate will be given full training and gain hands-on experience supporting audiologists in managing hearing health, with a focus on patient care and clinical procedures.
The initial training takes a minimum of 3 months and will involve online training, hands on training in store, and practical exams in Specsavers training Centre in Nottingham. After which you will be seeing patients as a Certified Wax Practitioner.
Responsibilities
Assist qualified audiologists in total patient care
Prepare and maintain audiological equipment and clinical environments
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in accordance with data protection standards
Provide information to patients regarding hearing health and treatment options
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within clinical settings
Participate in ongoing training sessions to enhance professional knowledge and skills
Support the administration team when needed
The role will be split between our Eastbourne and Seaford branches, with the majority of the week in Eastbourne
Experience
Prior knowledge of human biology, particularly related to auditory systems, is advantageous but full training will be provided
Familiarity with medical terminology and anatomical concepts relevant to audiology is advantageous but full training will be provided
Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities are essential for success in this role
A genuine interest in healthcare, patient welfare, and continuous learning is highly valued
Strongly competent IT skills especially with Microsoft 365 are essential
