Summary

We are seeking a trainee Buyer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be trained to become responsible for the procurement of all the materials for our sites, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring that our projects are supplied with the necessary materials efficiently and cost-effectively. In addition to this role you will be responsible for other administrative tasks and fielding calls.

Responsibilities

Manage the procurement of materials and services required for Groundworks projects. Source the best suppliers for each site location/area. Build relationships and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best terms. Monitor and measure quantities and forecast supply needs to prevent shortages. Manage lead times on materials and place orders to align with site requirements. Collaborate with site managers to understand material requirements for projects. Evaluate supplier performance and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers. Learn to take off material quants from drawings and understand tender documents.

Requirements

Previous office or site based experience in the Construction Industry, preferably Groundworks & Civil Engineering. IT literate and competent with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Pay: 25,000.00-35,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 24 - 40 per week
