An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Trainee Paralegal to join the Pursuer Personal Injury Team in our Edinburgh city centre office. This exciting opening would suit someone looking to start a career in motor insurance claims handling, either from a legal education background or an interest in learning from the ground up. Previous experience is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.

This role would be based in our Edinburgh office, with a combination of home and office working (working 2 days in the Edinburgh city centre office and 3 days from home). You would therefore need the infrastructure in place to work from home and will be provided with a company laptop.



Managing own caseload of pre litigated claims, predominantly RTA but with some PL/OL and EL claims; Pursuing claims from start to finish, or to litigation under the CPAP, and making full use of our case management system; Complying fully with agreed service level standards; Communicating with clients, insurers, expert witnesses and solicitors; Dealing with administration as required.


Effective people skills (able to work well with colleagues, clients, etc.); Be compassionate and understanding; The ability to prioritise and organise your work and work to deadlines; To be organised and be able to work under pressure; Computer literate (working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word); Effective numeracy and literacy skills.


You will be a team player with good attention to detail, the ability to use your own initiative and to work to strict deadlines. You should also have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
