Growing family owned ceramic business based in Stoke-on-Trent is looking to recruit a trainee production engineer and operative on a full-time permanent basis.
The business specialises in producing high quality precision ceramics products for a multitude of demanding and technical industries in the UK, as well as all over Europe and the USA.
Initially the candidate will be asked to aid in all areas of production including organising raw materials, operating various production equipment and machinery, working alongside other key members of staff as well as packaging and dispatching finished goods.
Long-term this will be a gradual trainee position which will hopefully lead to the candidate fulfilling a key figurehead position in side the organisation. This will include being responsible for sourcing materials, setting up and maintaining vital machinery and equipment as well as organising production workflow and scheduling.
The role will include the following:
Organsing and processing incoming raw materials ready for production
Operating various machinery for large and small batch production
Learning a diverse range of production processes involved in all areas of ceramic manufacturing
Maintaining strict quality controls and tolerances
Packaging goods and organising shipments
Working closely with other leadership/managerial staff to organise production
Product trialing, development and testing
Cleaning of production areas and workspaces
Work both in a team as well as individually
Adhering to various health and safety standards
This trainee position will be well suited to someone who is looking to build a profession in a small team leadership role inside a growing, thriving and ambitious ceramic manufacturing environment.
A background in manufacturing, production, engineering or ceramics maybe desirable. However, no job specific experience is required and each candidates work history will be screened on an individual basis. All relevant training will be provided.
The ideal candidate will a motivated, enthusiastic and keen to learn and develop into this hands-on demanding role.
