Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Trainee Dental Nurse/Receptionist to join our friendly dental practice. The ideal candidate will be enrolled on a recognised Dental Nursing course or have made plans to. This position requires strong organisational skills, effective communication abilities, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient care.

Duties

Assist dentists during various dental procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow. Prepare and sterilise instruments and equipment in accordance with health and safety regulations. Provide support to patients, addressing their concerns and ensuring their comfort throughout treatments. Maintain accurate patient records and update information as required. Manage appointment scheduling and follow-up communications with patients. Ensure the dental surgery is clean, organised, and well-stocked with necessary supplies. Reception duties when needed, processing payments and assisting patients with relevant paperwork when needed. Communicate effectively with both patients and team members to facilitate optimal patient care. Stay updated on dental practices and technologies.

Requirements

Proficient in English, both spoken and written, to communicate effectively with patients and staff. Strong IT skills for managing patient records and scheduling systems through our practice management software (Dentally) Excellent organisational skills to maintain an efficient working environment. A genuine passion for patient care, demonstrating empathy and professionalism at all times. Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated. Own transport is desirable but not essential. This position will be based at two practices in Gravesend and Istead Rise.
