We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate trainee Dental Nurse to join our dental practice. The successful candidate will support dentists during procedures, ensure patient comfort, and maintain high standards of hygiene and organisation within the clinic. The position is paid and suitable for both experienced nurses and those undertaking internships in dental care.
Responsibilities
Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, ensuring smooth workflow and patient comfort
Prepare treatment rooms with the necessary instruments and materials prior to appointments
Provide patients with pre- and post-treatment instructions, ensuring they feel informed and cared for
Maintain strict hygiene standards by sterilising instruments and managing infection control protocols
Record patient details accurately within electronic health records (IT skills are essential)
Support patients throughout their visit, addressing queries with professionalism and empathy
Manage appointment schedules efficiently, ensuring organisational standards are upheld
Ensure the clinical environment remains clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations
Skills
Strong patient care skills with a compassionate approach towards individuals of all ages
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to liaise effectively with patients and team members
Good organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a busy clinical setting
Basic IT proficiency for maintaining electronic records and managing appointment systems
Knowledge of nursing practices within a dental environment is desirable but training will be provided for suitable candidates
Ability to work as part of a team whilst demonstrating initiative and professionalism
