Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Trainee Dental Nurse to join a well-established dental practice in Oxford Witney. The ideal candidate will have prior chairside experience and be currently undergoing formal dental nurse training. This role offers the opportunity to develop your clinical skills while contributing meaningfully to patient care in a modern, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Assist dentists during examinations and dental procedures, ensuring all instruments and materials are prepared. Deliver excellent patient care by providing reassurance, explaining procedures, and responding to questions. Maintain accurate patient records and help manage appointments using dental IT systems. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and infection control standards. Sterilise instruments and keep treatment areas clean and well-organised. Collaborate effectively with the dental team to ensure smooth daily operations. Support patients with oral hygiene education and post-treatment guidance.

Experience & Skills

Previous experience in a dental environment is essential (minimum 3-6 months chairside). Currently enrolled in a recognised dental nurse training program. Familiarity with infection prevention and control protocols. Good IT skills and ability to learn dental software systems. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Organised, professional, and calm under pressure. A kind and compassionate approach to patient care.
