: Spinney Brook Dental Practice is a friendly, well-established NHS and Private dental practice based in Irthlingborough. We provide high-quality dental care in a modern, supportive environment and are looking for a motivated individual to join our team as a Trainee Dental Nurse / Receptionist.
The Role
We are a growing Practice and an exciting opportunity has arisen at Spinney Brook Dental Practice. We are seeking a motivated, professional caring person to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in dentistry. The role is a combined dental nurse and reception position, offering full training and support.
The right candidate should have excellent communication skills, work well within a team and have a warm friendly approach. Previous dental experience / knowledge is preferred but not essential. We are looking for a Registered or a Trainee Dental Nurse.
Clinical (with training provided):
Assisting the dentist during NHS and private treatments
Preparing and cleaning dental surgeries
Decontamination and sterilisation of instruments (HTM 01-05 compliant)
Maintaining high standards of infection control
Supporting patient care and comfort
Reception / Administration:
Greeting patients and providing a welcoming experience
Booking and managing appointments
Answering telephone and email enquiries
Processing payments and dental forms
Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the practice

The role will include:
-Greeting patients
-Use of computer to chart dental anatomy and make notes
-Providing chair-side assistance
- Assisting the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures
- Preparing and maintaining the dental surgery for patient treatment
- Ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and infection control within the surgery
- Providing excellent patient care and chair-side support
- Recording dental charting, patient notes, and treatment information accurately on patient records
- Taking responsibility for the decontamination of instruments
- Preparing materials and stock check
- Some administrative tasks
Requirements:
- Proficient in English language skills for effective communication with patients and colleagues
- Strong organisational skills to manage patient appointments and maintain records accurately
- Qualified as a dental nurse or in the process of obtaining qualification or willing to take dental nurse qualification
- Ability to work well within a team environment and support colleagues effectively
- Competent IT skills for managing digital records and using dental software systems
- Prior experience in patient care is advantageous but not essential
