As a progressive and modern facility, we currently make use of the most up to date equipment available as well as embracing digital technologies and have a well developed digital workflow in the lab.
As a result of business expansion, we are looking for a trainee lab technician to join our small and friendly team on a full time basis.
We are ideally looking for someone with experience in casting dental models and producing vacuum formed appliances. An aptitude to learn aspects of a digital workflow is required and training will be provided.
You will have the ability to organise and prioritise daily workload whilst working to a high standard unsupervised, have good communication skills and be committed and eager to furthering your career.
The right candidate can be assured of our full support to undertake the Diploma in Higher Education Dental Technology Programme provided at The University of Aberdeen but would need to have the entry requirements for this course which are:
Two SQA Highers at grade C or better, one in a science subject (NB Maths is a science subject), OR equivalent qualifications at SCQF level 6 or above.
Qualification in English at Nat 5 level or above OR, equivalent qualification at SCQF Level 5 or above OR, IELTS 6.0 overall or above including 5.5 in reading and 6.0 in writing
As a small lab we value good relationships with our clients and feel that we benefit from working closely with clinicians from planning to final fit so it is vital that you can communicate effectively with dentists who use the lab to ensure we are able to provide the highest quality of work and service to meet their needs.
Hours of work are 37.5 hours per week between 9am and 5pm daily with paid overtime and 29 days holiday per year including Bank/Public Holidays (and an additional day off to celebrate your birthday! )
