Trainee Dispenser - Part Time 15 hours per week

15hrs - Monday 09.00-13.00, Tuesday 14:00-17:30, Thursday 09.00-17.30

Main purpose of the role

To provide an appropriate and sensitive service to all customers, providing the best possible advice on all products within the shop ensuring they are referred to the Pharmacist as appropriate.

Primary responsibilities

To ensure the pharmacy environment is welcoming, clean and professional

To greet customers in a professional and friendly manner

To accurately complete financial transactions with customers

To confidently advise customers on best treatments

To know and understand the main features of stocked lines and the benefits to customers

To select and recommend suitable products and provide advice on their correct use

To provide advice on leading a healthy lifestyle

To receive prescriptions from customers and ensure they reached the dispensary in a timely manner

To ensure the safe and correct transfer of dispensed items to patients

To receive stock and ensure it is appropriately stored

To assist with effective stock control including date checking

To assist with the engagement of patients onto additional services

To maintain an up to date knowledge of over the counter remedies

To complete the accurate cashing up and banking of cash

Any other duties as requested

Person specification

Experience preferred, but not essential

Strong communication and excellent customer service skills

Trustworthy and understanding of confidentiality issues

Professional, tactful and friendly attitude

Excellent team working skills

Commitment to continuing professional development and training

IT literate
