About Us
Flowright is a Commercial Plumbing and Drainage Company based in Welwyn Grden City that provides 24 hour support to the hospitality industry. Our largest customers include restaurant chains such as Nando's and Five Guy's while in the hotel sector we supply big names like The Savoy, The Dorchester and The Mandarin Oriental.
We are committed to changing the perception of the industry to provide a friendly, valuable and quality service to our clients. To help us achieve this, we require new Trainee Drainage Technicians to join the team. Starting out in drainage, you will have the option to pursue formal qualifications in plumbing or other specialisms as you progress in your career (after 12 months).
About the Role
You will be working alongside established engineers to shadow them and assist in their work activities. You will learn on the job firstly by observing and within a short time will be given elements of the work to do yourself.
Flowright delivers a wide range of solutions relating to plumbing and drainage. These include installation and servicing or plumbing components (like taps, toilets etc), hot water systems, drainage systems, foul pump systems and use a variety of equipment such as push-rod CCTV cameras, pipework crimpers, mechanical cleaning equipment and HGV extraction tankers.
All our trainee's start by learning the drainage side of the business and there is a lot to cover, but there is no substitute for hands-on training to get you up to speed quickly. Along the way you will be introduced to elements of plumbing and can further your knowledge of the plumbing side of the business with formal training. Other areas of development include mastering the CCTV units, no-dig repairs, tanker work or pump specialist.
Our job reporting is what sets us apart from our competitors. It is vital we inform the customer of exactly what has been done while working on their sites and any further works that may be required to resolve an issue permanently or prevent it from happening again in the future. We do this using photos with in-depth descriptions captured on our job management software and app to produce timely updates and follow ups. You'll be trained on how to use this to maximise the customer experience.
We are currently looking for trainee's on both day and night shifts so please make your preference known when making the application.
As this job requires working with drainage, it can be smelly and dirty. PPE is provided to keep you safe at all times, but some people just can't cope with some of the work that needs to be carried out. Please think carefully if this part of the job would bother you!
About You
As in everything we do at Flowright, we are open minded about the right candidate for this role, but this is perhaps more suitable for someone who is figuring out their career path. Having said this we would still like to hear from people who are perhaps looking for a career change and want to join the industry.
This is a "no experience necessary" position but the desire to get stuck in and learn is a minimum requirement. You will also need to be able to drive as you will ultimately end up in your own vehicle, covering your own jobs.
We need to be able to put you with our experienced engineers so will either need to be located in or near to North London, Central London, Welwyn Garden City or Dunstable.
About the Process
If you're interested in the position then please apply with your CV (don't worry, we're not expecting to see much to do with plumbing or drainage on there). When we receive your application we will send over an info PDF which goes into a bit more detail about the company and the position.
Following this, if you'd like to continue the application process and we feel you might be suitable, you may be offered a phone interview.
After successfully completing this stage, you will be invited to the office in Welwyn Garden City for a face-to-face interview which is the final part of the process.
