Full Time -
Trainee Ductwork Assistant
to join our successful, fast-paced team. We are looking for hardworking, reliable individuals who are interested in learning the skills to become a Skilled Ductwork Fabricator. The position is a trainee role starting at minimum wage for your age
which can continue to increase
as you develop your new skills, with Airtrace support of on-the-job training to a
potential earning of 35,000 plus.
Airtrace Sheet Metal are one of the UK's largest manufacturers of supply-only sheet metal ductwork. From our substantial manufacturing plant in East Sussex, we supply ductwork to contractors needing high-quality ductwork at a competitive price, with a fast turnaround. We specialise in the fabrication of sheet metal and ductwork for the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning industry, manufacturing to the highest standards.

Working Hours:
Early shift: 5.30 to 14.30
Late shift: 16.00 to 01.00 (paid at a rate of time and a quarter due to some hours being unsociable)
The position is working Monday to Friday and 1 in 4 Saturdays.
Ongoing development:
Airtrace will continue to train you through our workshop positions all the way to Skilled Ductwork by:
Continuing to develop your ductwork skills and knowledge with our on-the-job training.
Continue to build your knowledge on various machines.
Offer anyone interested, an NVQ in Ductwork (once requirements are reached)
Teach you how to read specification drawings.
Offer you opportunities to develop your management skills (once requirements are reached)
Your hourly rate will increase as your skills develop. More details will be shared at the interview stage.
Responsibilities:
Learning the skills needed to become a skilled ductwork fabricator.
Working as a team and helping skilled fabricators with tasks at hand.
General workshop duties such as assembly of mez frames, painting, cutting, punching and loading.
Operating various machinery including CNC plasma cutters.
Working with other skilled staff members and learning from them, with on-the-job training.
Adhering to Health & Safety Regulations.
Requirements:
Attention to detail to ensure quality.
Ability to follow Health and Safety regulations.
Teamwork.
Accurate measuring ability.
Good numeracy skills.
Experience of using a tape measure and other measuring devices.
GCSE (or equivalent) in maths is preferred but not essential.
