We're currently expanding our capacity at Sheephouse and, as a result, recruiting for a trainee practitioner to join our baa'rilliant team. This opportunity is ideal for someone who has just left/about to leave school and is looking to further their education whilst working at the same time.

Sheephouse is a small but perfectly formed nursery and out of school club in Fauldhouse, West Lothian. In 2021 we were awarded a Scottish Government Innovation Award for our innovative practice. We have been consistently graded VERY GOOD by the Care Inspectorate. We're incredibly child-led and do things 'The Sheephouse Way'- ensuring that the needs of the children that we care for and their families are central to what we do. We don't like to stand still and are innovative in our approach to play - always keen to push boundaries and offer fantastic play opportunities. We have a great team who are hugely important to us and we like to support and empower them all with a view to having as much fun as possible on a daily basis.

Desirable qualifications, training and experience:

Excellent written and verbal communication Childcare experience Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work to targets and deadlines Introductory knowledge of health and safety legislation Introductory knowledge of Care Standards and Frameworks Knowledge and understanding of equal opportunities
Successful candidates will have 12 months to complete an SVQ Level 3 in Social Services (Children and Young People) in conjunction with West Lothian College.
