We exist to provide emergency care in critical situations. To reach people in need and protect life. It's our reason for being. It's that simple.
When someone calls 999 with a medical emergency, a LIVES responder may be despatched carrying the skills, experience, and equipment to make a difference for that patient. This might just be the difference between life and death. In a large rural county like Lincolnshire, this is important, and that is why we have been responding for over 50 years.
We are a charity, and our reach and impact have grown significantly over the last few years as we have developed new models and services for supporting the communities of our county. We have an army of volunteer responders, both laypeople and healthcare professionals, along with specialist clinical teams employed to attend to specific patients and incidents. LIVES are currently based in Horncastle, but we operate right across the county of Lincolnshire, including the North and North- East.
We believe it takes a team to save a life and every member of that team is vital in delivering the best outcome for patients. Part of the team could be a bystander who witnesses a member of the public collapse in the street and calls for help or an ambulance crew that back up a LIVES community first responder and takes over the patient's care, or a fire crew who works alongside colleagues from LIVES and the ambulance service to extricate a seriously injured patient from a road traffic collision. This role is part of that team!
The Falls Response Team operate right across the Greater Lincolnshire area excluding North and Northeast Lincolnshire areas.
