The Role



Wessex Internet have an exciting opportunity for a trainee Installation Engineer to learn new skills in a fast-growing industry, with job specific training and industry recognised qualifications including PIA Openreach accreditation. We have a structured induction and probationary training plan tailored to our employees. At Wessex Internet, we are proud to offer ongoing development and career opportunities. With a rapidly expanding Service Delivery Department, we are supporting progression from within, focusing on upskilling and developing our Engineers to become our future leaders. You will be a second in a van and required to travel to our yard to go out for your days work with one of our experienced engineers throughout your training.



Responsibilities



Installing full fibre internet connections to both residential and business properties Diagnose and restore service issues to maintain customer connections Carry out emergency and scheduled maintenance across the Wessex Internet network Work as part of an engineering team providing assistance and resource for the maintenance of the ISP services Provide 'out of hours' cover on a rota basis during evenings and weekends Working at height to install equipment on masts and customer houses Working as an individual and as part of a team to achieve company targets and KPI's Adherence with Health & Safety legislation



Requirements



Great communication and customer service skills Takes a proactive approach to problem solving in a team environment Honesty and reliability The ability to work on your own initiative with strong self-organisational skills A strong willingness to learn new skills and adapt to evolving processes Be confident working at height and ideally have received certified training Must hold a full UK driving licence for at least 12 months

Salary

: 26,000 - 28,000 per annum, depending on experience
