Field Biologist Trainee (Food industry) - Job Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Field Biologist trainee to support our pest control operations by providing expert technical advice, conducting site audits, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices. In this role, you'll be at the heart of delivering our high service standards, supporting clients with tailored pest prevention strategies, and driving continuous improvement across our service teams. We have an extensive client list including all commercial and domestic sectors, however, our core business is to provide a tailored pest prevention service to the food processing and agricultural industries.
Throughout the traineeship you will be expected, initially, to gain experience as a pest control technician before completing the BPCA Certified Field Biologist qualification.
Responsibilities
Carry out biologist inspections at food processing sites and other key accounts and prepare detailed reports for clients, liaise with clients to ensure recommendations are carried out and that we are meeting our obligations to clients.
Management of all food processing sites and other key accounts ensuring that our service meets all audit and customer requirements, maintain paperwork in site report files.
Recognising opportunities to offer additional services and discussing these with clients.
Take responsibility for staff training, carry out initial training with new personnel and maintain on-going training for existing staff and organise CPD requirements.
Carry out QA inspections on customer sites, work with technicians to help them improve their quality of service.
Help maintain state of service as needed.
Maintain company QHSE records ensuring company meets its legal obligations.
Requirements
Undergraduate degree (this role would suit a candidate with a science-based degree, but consideration will be given to candidates from other disciplines)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to present findings clearly to clients and internal teams.
High attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and reporting tools.
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required.
