Trainee Financial Accountant

to join our Financeteam in Edinburgh!

What you'll be doing:



Completion of month end processes including balance sheet reconciliations, journals for accruals and prepayments and raising POs. Preparation and submission of VAT, ONS and other statutory returns Monitoring capex spend, ensuring in line with the approved budgets Supporting treasury function, including daily and weekly cash forecasting, monthly bank reconciliations, monitoring of bank accounts and preparation of payments. Assisting with preparation of statutory accounts and responding to queries from our statutory auditors Assist in delivering continuous improvement within the department to enhance processes, systems and financial control Your involvement in treasury and month end processes will be dictated by the evolution of team requirements and your development in the role

What we need from you:

Part-qualified with ICAS/ICAEW/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent (Note - Study support available for completion of exams) Strong MS Excel skills Strong analytical and presentation skills Well-developed communication and influencing skills Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills Previous knowledge of SAP would be advantageous but not critical You'll be a positive 'can do' individual that genuinely likes supporting stakeholders, is able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team and is comfortable working to strict deadlines.
