Job Summary

We are seeking a Trainee Funeral Director to join our independent family funeral service as a new member of our team. You will assist in delivering a quality and empathetic service to our clients and the deceased, including manual work, being a member of our on-call rota and attending and providing support during funeral services. Full training will be provided, so a positive, hard-working attitude is more valuable than prior experience.

Duties

Arranging, attending and conducting funeral services Processing funeral arrangements Participating as a member of our on-call rota, including evenings and overnight, weekends and bank holidays. This is on an every-other week basis. Assisting in bringing the deceased into our care Caring for the deceased, including all preparations for chapel visits and funeral services Maintaining the cleanliness of the interior and exterior of the premises and our private ambulances Participating in funeral services as a pall-bearer and offering support to the conducting Funeral Director Assisting in the interment of ashes, including preparing and completing ashes graves and fixing memorial tablets All other general duties as required

Essential

Full clean manual driving licence (for insurance purposes you must be aged 21 years or older) Good written and verbal communication skills Must live within one hour's drive of Cranleigh

Pay

Starting at 24,000.00 to 28,000.00 with opportunity for overtime and payment for each callout whilst on-duty
