We are now looking a

Galvanizing Operative

to join our team in our 24-hour galvanizing plant,to be employed on a full-time basis (after successful completion of a probationary period).

About the Job

This job is not easy. Galvanizing means dipping steel into molten zinc at 450C. The plant is hot, the work is dirty, and it's physically demanding. You'll be standing most of your shift, working around heat and fumes (safely managed), handling heaving metal work, and wearing full PPE including gloves, face protection, and overalls at all times.

You'll be trained, supervised, and supported - but this is a job for someone who is reliable, tough, and willing to graft.

If you're not willing to work hard in heat, get your hands dirty, and work safely as part of a fast-paced industrial team - this role is

for you.

Our plant operates 24-hours a day with our operatives working a rotating shift system (including some weekends) to meet customer demand.

The successful candidate will undergo on-the-job training to understand the role and the galvanizing industry. No experience required.

Hours & Pay:

Our employees are paid weekly, every Friday and have the opportunity to earn a discretionary bonus every month!

Trainees start on a rate of 12.96 per hour to increase to 13.46 per hour once training is completed.

Contracted to 40 hours per week. Any hours worked over that is entitled to overtime pay of 1.5 times your normal rate of pay.

1 extra per hour for night shifts.

Performance-Related Pay:

After 3 months of employment, you will be eligible for the performance appraisal scheme. Your performance in your role will be assessed on several criteria and employees considered our best performers will receive an enhanced bonus payment each week, up to a maximum of 14.21 per hour.

Hours:

Our operatives work an alternating day/night shift pattern (i.e. one week of days, one week of nights) to ensure 24-hour coverage for customers:

Days - Monday to Friday (7am - 15:45pm) Nights - Sunday night to Thursday night (8pm - 4:45am)

Each shift is expected to work a reasonable amount of overtime in accordance with business needs (up to 48-hours plus optional additional overtime).

What We're Looking For:

Reliable, hard-working, and punctual Willing to work rotating day/night shifts and overtime as and when required Physically fit - able to be stood for most of the day and capable of manual handling up to 20kg without help of forklift. Able to follow health & safety instructions carefully A team player with a positive attitude Willing to learn - on-the-job training will be provided, no previous experience required
