Job Description

We are a manufacturer of glassfibre products for a range of clients. We are now seeking to employ an additional Trainee Glassfibre Trimmer in our factory in Castleford.

This role requires a competant person with a steady hand to hand-cut all apects of GRP using a variety of tools including pneumatic diamond-tipped trimmers, grinders and routers.

Must be able to read technical drawings to determine measurements for trimming and quality checks.

Must be able to work in an organised and clean manner, and due to the nature of the job must be able to work well on their own.

Must take pride in their work and be able to complete quality checks, work to SOPS, work to our 5S standards and complete variety of documentation within our scope of ISO9001 accreditation.

All training will be provided, however, the ideal candidate will have experience in a similar manufacturing environment and experience using hand held tools.

Candidates must be willing to learn and have transport available. (Please note that Friday shift is an early start and buses may not be available from some areas. Candidates must be able to start at the stated time)

This is an entry level job starting at 12.75 / hour, with progression up to 14.75 with experience. This has no minimum time frame for this and is purely based on succesful candidates willingness to learn quickly. There is also a 0.50 / hour attendance bonus effective after a 3 month probationary period.

Hours of work:

8:00am - 4:30pm Monday to Thursday

6:00am - 1:15pm Friday

38.75 hour week fixed, permanent contract, pensions contribution scheme, 28 days holiday ( including 2 week Christmasn shutdown period )

Candidates must be prepared to work overtime when required which is paid at 1.5x hourly rate, and must have a minimum of GCSE pass grades.
