Are you eager to start a career in heavy plant maintenance but don't have much hands-on experience yet? This is your chance to learn, grow, and become a skilled Heavy Plant Technician within a supportive, hands-on workshop environment.
We're looking for a motivated and hard-working individual to join our Engineering team in Ipswich. You'll be trained to service, maintain, and repair a wide range of heavy plant machinery--including excavators, ADTs, screeners, telehandlers, and dozers. Working alongside experienced engineers, you'll gain the skills needed to become confident with mechanical and electrical diagnostics and repairs.

Assisting with service, maintenance, and repairs on heavy plant machinery such as crushers, screeners, and trommels.
Helping diagnose basic mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
Using diagnostic tools under supervision to troubleshoot problems.
Carrying out routine workshop tasks and keeping work areas clean and organised.
Supporting accurate record-keeping for repairs and services.
Following all company health and safety procedures at all times.
What We're Looking For
A genuine interest in plant machinery, mechanics, or engineering.
A strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and a proactive attitude.
Basic mechanical knowledge (even hobby-based) is helpful but not essential.
NVQ Level 2/3 in Plant Maintenance, Automotive, Engineering, or similar is beneficial--but we will consider candidates without formal qualifications.
Full UK driving licence preferred (not essential for the right person).
Having your own tools is a bonus but not required initially.
