Following our recent success at the 2025 Plant & Civil Engineer Awards, Bann Hire and Sales is looking for an enthusiastic Trainee Hire Controller to join our award-winning team at the Banbridge depot. As a local, family-run business, we pride ourselves on delivering a first-class rental service that exceeds customer expectations.

The Role

This is a desk-based, fast-paced position where you will be the front-line contact for our customers. You will learn to manage the entire hire process, from the initial booking to equipment collection.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Excellence

: Handle enquiries via phone, email, and in-person, providing expert advice to help customers select the right equipment for their needs.

Booking Management

: Process hire orders, schedule deliveries, and manage off-hire notifications using our rental management systems.

Co-ordination

: Liaise closely with our workshop engineers and drivers to ensure all equipment is checked, tested, and ready for timely delivery.

Administration

: Maintain accurate records, including hire agreements, damage reports, and invoicing.
What We Are Looking For

Communication

: Excellent verbal and written skills with a professional telephone manner.

Attitude:

A "can-do" approach, highly motivated, and able to work under pressure in a busy environment.

Technical Interest

: A willingness to learn about our extensive fleet, ranging from small tools to heavy plant machinery.

Requirements:

A valid driving license is essential. Previous experience in a sales or operational role is an advantage, but not essential, as full training will be provided.
