We're now offering an exciting opportunity for a
Trainee Stairlift Engineer

The Role
As a trainee, you'll work alongside experienced engineers while learning how to install, service, and repair stairlifts, overhead hoists, and other mobility equipment used in customers' homes. This is a highly practical, varied role where no two days are the same -- from solving mechanical or electrical issues to helping customers regain mobility and independence.
You'll receive full training and support, with a clear pathway to becoming a fully qualified engineer. Please note, this is a
trainee position
, and as such, the starting salary reflects a trainee wage -- but your pay will grow as your skills and responsibilities increase.
What We're Looking For
To succeed in this role, you'll need a practical background and the enthusiasm to learn every aspect of the trade. We're looking for someone who:
Has
at least one year of practical experience
in an electrical or mechanical environment.
Is confident using hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
Has a genuine interest in engineering, repairs, or hands-on troubleshooting.
Communicates clearly and takes pride in good customer service.
Is reliable, patient, and eager to develop new skills.
Holds a full UK driving licence (or is close to obtaining one).
Lives within commutable distance of Herefordshire or South Wales, as some travel across the region will be required.
What You'll Learn
Installation, servicing, and repair of stairlifts and overhead hoists.
LOLER safety testing and inspection procedures.
Electrical and mechanical fault-finding.
Customer communication and professional service delivery.
Safe working practices and equipment handling.
